Identify the error type first
Retailers often display generic messages. “Not valid” can mean the code ended, the account is ineligible, the basket contains exclusions or the campaign belongs to another country. Do not change everything at once; test one variable at a time.
Eight common causes
- End date passed. Check the day and time in the original market.
- Wrong country. A code may be restricted to a regional domain.
- Minimum not met. Taxes, delivery, gift cards or sale items may be excluded.
- Excluded product. Marketplace, premium brands, launches and clearance are frequent exclusions.
- Wrong account. First order, new signup, membership or personal invitation may be required.
- Wrong channel. App-only, web-only, physical store or phone order.
- Incompatibility. Another promotion is already applied.
- Usage cap reached. Some campaigns have a total limit or one use per account.
Check in the right order
Start with date and country because they invalidate the whole test. Then review the code, account and channel. Finally build a small basket with one clearly eligible item. If it works, add the remaining products one by one to find an exclusion.
When to stop trying
Do not complete a purchase expecting a later refund unless the retailer states that process in writing. If the official source no longer mentions the campaign, treat the code as unconfirmed and choose another current offer.
Report the failure
Send the listing URL, country, exact message and date to [email protected]. Do not include credentials or card data. A cropped screenshot without personal information can help.
What Cuporio does
We compare the report with the source, check the date and market and update the status when needed. An ended code leaves current promotions and is removed from Offer structured data.
