Before copying the code
Confirm that the promotion belongs to the country where you will buy and to the correct retailer version. A code published for Spain may not work in Mexico even when the brand uses a similar site. Check currency, date, channel — web, app or store — and whether an account is required.
Recommended process
- Open the official source and confirm the campaign is still visible.
- Read the minimum spend and excluded categories.
- Copy the code without leading or trailing spaces.
- Add eligible products and reach the minimum after previous discounts if the terms require it.
- Enter the code in the coupon or promotion field.
- Check the final summary before paying: the saving should appear as a separate line or clearly reduce the total.
Where the field usually appears
Some retailers show it in the cart; others hide it until checkout or sign-in. On mobile it may sit in an accordion labelled “Have a promo code?”. If there is no field, the offer may be automatic or app-only.
What to check when it fails
- Spelling: O versus 0, I versus 1, dashes and case.
- Eligibility: first order, student, member, newsletter or payment method.
- Basket: marketplace items, sale products, gift cards and launches are common exclusions.
- Stacking: remove another incompatible code.
- Date and time zone: campaigns may end at midnight in the retailer's market.
Document a problem
Record the exact message, date, country, products and subtotal. Never send full payment data. These details help separate an ended code from an unmet requirement.
Signs of a useful listing
A good listing identifies retailer and market, links the source, shows the review date, separates the code from terms and does not promise universal success. Cuporio uses that format and removes promotions from current listings after their public end date.
